Locked out of achievements

Playing through Doom 3 BFG and I got a pop up telling me I wasn't eligible for achievements because I had the console enabled. I haven't touched the default.cfg file, nor have I added any command line parameters to the launcher. I did mess with the FOV option in the post-patch system menu, but I reverted it back to it's default before playing any further.

Since I never enabled the console, is there a way to disable it and unlock my ability to get achievements again?

I just had the same issue, amazingly the patch seems to have made it so that changing the fov disables achievements. Wonderful! Any chance of a bug fix someone? Along with the busted 16x aa

Alright, just checked and it can be fixed. Set your fov back to 80 and it will re-enable achievements. Unacceptable compromise but one that works. Please patch this!

Edit: Just got the message again with the barrel achievement, what I listed worked with one boss where I reloaded with the original fov after getting the console message but not with that. Got the barrel achievment after putting it Back to 90. Very odd bug.

i have the same issue, the funny thing is that i can get the achievements of doom 1 & 2. but not in 3 bfg. no matter what i do or if i delete all the cfgs on (C:\Users\xxx\Saved Games\id Software\DOOM 3 BFG\base) and the base game directory.

they need to fix this... is outrageous

i have a solution, or... sort of...

delette all in the users/base config, close/open steam, start the game, and only change the resolution...

with that... i can get achievements. look if this helps you... it a start untill we wait for a patch :S

Man, this stinks. I don't really want to delete all my settings. I didn't even touch my FOV (but I did alter my key bindings. Do I really have to play with the default key bindings to get achievements?!

is the only thing that let you unlock the achievements, only change the resolution.
i cant even use the quicksave key the other day...

yep, I also had to set FOV back to 80 to get the achievements for completing the lost mission just now - hopefully they correct this quickly! :\

the only reason i enabled the console was because of the ladders in delta labs...i dont know about you guys but i couldnt ascend them at all... *I would get stuck at the very top of the ladder, unable to climb up any further*......i find it kind of harsh to punish me for trying to get around what seems to be a bug in the game..anyone else have that trouble in Delta labs?......i hope they fix this Soon!!!!!!

I only bought doom 3 yesterday im getting the same message about achievenments being disabled. I have been taking screen shots, so I start again and this time I won't take any screen shots and post my results.

Im not getting any, I even started a new game, didn't take any screen shots and I melee 20 enemys and still nothing.

Anyway, I deleted all my save games and started again. This time I restarted doom3 and didn't use the overlay once and I managed to get two achievements so far. I put it down to openning the overlay or taking a screenshot.

submit a support ticket explaining the issue. I have done just that, only because I can prove its a glitch....I have achievements for beating some of the bosses and not earlier ones due to screenshots. Whereas if I had "cheated" using the console HYPOTHETICALLY I should not have been able to get any of the achievements.
