DOOM2 from BFG edition: are internet games supported or only LAN?
It is very interesting for me - was old DOOM1/2 network protocol improved for IP playing? How much players can join one game?

Or only old style LAN games for 4 players?

No MP for the PC-Version(of DOOM and DOOM II) at all.
Xbox360 Version supports online DM for up to 4 players and Coop-Campaign for up to 4 players.
Both Online and Offline.
Pc-Version supports nothing, so blame ID for that.

If you want an awesome multiplayer game of classic doom get Skulltag, right the hell now.

I already own the classic Doom games on Steam, but maybe could be of interest to others to know if the Doom wads included with the BFG Edition are at all compatible with Skulltag, as you'll need them in order to play? Given the censored Doom 2 levels and the different medkit graphics, they would at least have different checksums, which would make it difficult to play with owners of the original versions, I think?

Thank you for your answer. In this case there are no reasons to buy BFG edition.

Well for me there were some good Reasons, but ID should have ported the Console Versions (back) to the PC or something like that.
I think they still hate us.

No, its just id knows that there are user made source ports that do everything the console versions can do and a ton more. If you want LAN or internet games get odamex:

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/odamex

Note that until the newest version (0.6.2) is released you will have to patch your BFG doom.wad and doom2.wad back down to the original vanilla iwads that are uncensored. There is info how to do this on the Odamex forums, and soon I will post a thread on how to do it on the steam page as well.
