Why doesn't the BFG edition have Steam Cloud?

The original Doom 3 has Steam Cloud support... Why the hell doesn't the BFG edition? I reformatted and totally forgot to back up my saves... Yes, my fault, I'm not saying it's ID's fault, haha. I'm just stating in general, being it's a Steamworks game...I don't get it.

Also wondering this. Not that it's that big a deal, but I seem to remember Bethesda adding cloud support to a ton of old games, including the original Doom, Doom II and Wolf3D etc. Seems a bit strange that they'd leave it out of this. It's also missing from RAGE, so maybe it was up to id to implement it for the newer releases and they never bothered.

It kinda irritates me that Steamworks games (by that I mean retail disc-based games that require Steam activation) don't have Steam Cloud. It's a no-brainer.

Some Bethesda or ID Employees one week before the BFG Edition Release:
"Yea, i dont think its was enough that we f****d up the PC-Version of RAGE, i think we should f**k those idiots (=PC-Players) with the BFG Edition too. Let' do NOT add any online compability to Doom and Doom2, and dont add Cloud Support at all, BUT bind it to a Steam Acc.
Isn't that genius?"


John Carmack himself promised at Quakecon12 that something like the PC-Version of Rage will never happen again.
OK, BFG doesnt have any Technical issues, but the PC-Version is not as good as it could be.
Despite i really had fun with it so far, i can totally understand those people wanting their money back...

Agreed. What bugs me the most is how ID's first games were PC titles. And even up to Doom 3, they were developed for PC, and ported to consoles. Now, it's the other way around, and we're getting the shaft.

Because they are fat lazy devs that didn't even include a server browser in Quake Champions. It's as if Bethesda has employed Kathleen Kennedy to ruin classic games, like she ruined Star Wars.
