Doom 3 BFG Crash
First off, i run a Win-XP computer with a AMD Ahtlon 64 2.4ghz processor with 2gb ram...

I got a ripped version of Doom 3 that runs just fine, but this one crashes directly at startup...
Obviously, both are not installed at the same time for the sake of TRYING to avoid crashes like these... guess i wasted time deleteing/uninstalling the other doom3 version...

Every time i try the run the game, the screen goes black, then returns to the desktop, with the error log window and a lot of text.

I've had the same problem, only I have windows 7
I am running Windows XP SP2 and have an ATI Radeon HD 4850 PCI-E 16X 512MB graphics card and have the same issue. My driver is as updated as possible (Catalyst 12.6 with OpenGL 3.3). I've tried the suggestions in the link above (windowed mode) but nothing works for me.

Requirements say 5750, unfortunately. Dont know how much that effects it though.
mine is ATI 6750 DDR5 , 4 GBRAM , X3 AMD PHENON 2 440 !!! i get a brownish grey screen then this ERROR . ITS ALL BECAUSE OF WIN 7 Gfry- dude u must be having prob wid GPU upgrade ur specs! :D
Windows XP you can't play directx 10 and 11. Upgrade the windows 7 ultimate.

Doom 3 is OpenGL and needs atleast DirectX 8 to play, check the system requirements for Doom 3 Original... the difference between the Original and this failed version is that they cranked everything up to max and disabled modding the game plus a few other bad things. I finally managed to get ahold of the ORIGINAL version, instead of this failed piece of grabage... the Original can be modded to look 5 times better then this un-moddable version ...
