I don't normally play with headphones but its late here in the UK and I just played a bit of BFG and used my Asus Xonar panel to set it to analogue out/headphones (as i normally use SPDIF to an AV Amp), I also used the GX setting and ticked to output in PCM and ticked "Dolby Headphone". Its made a remarkable difference to the sound, audiologs are clear, weapons have more presence and the overall soundscape seems more dynamic.
This is a poor effort for ID software, I'm very disappointed with the overall presentation on PC, its not the ID I use to know...
