I use Windows 7 64-bit. I had to enable compatability mode and select Windows 7. Oddly enough now it runs.

Well it didn't even give me an error.

I have the same problem, compatibility mode did not cure it. All I get is "DOOM3 stopped working". I suspect the problem is that I have a nVidia GeForce 7300 video card, and the program is ralphing on that. I'm gonna upgrade to a GTX650 and see if that cures it.

Does anybody around answer questions or do you just add more questions instead of answers?

I've got the same thing. I've been hoping its just a bug, and there will be an update, eventually, so so far, not a damn thing. Could be driver conflict, too, but I doubt it.

In order to figure out the error you should first go to the folder where doom 3 bfg is installed.

For most users this is either:
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DOOM 3 BFG Edition
Or:
• Somewhere in C:\Users\<Username>\Saved games or something.

If you can't figure out its location, you can go to C:\ in Windows explorer and search on Doom 3.

Now, next, double click the Doom 3 BFG Icon and you will be presented with the real error.

The GL_Draw error on my machine was because the card/video driver combination did not fully support OpenGL. There was an NVIDIA driver that would have fixed it, but my toshiba has a custom driver so no go. An older machine took it and ran. Also check Steam support. There are two executables from the install you need to run. One for MCV2010 (or something) and a Direct X thing. BUT, if you can upgrade the driver for the video card, do so.
