D3 BFG Mods?
Before people start saying that there's no way to mod the game, I'll say that the source code for D3 BFG was released last year, and any google search of ANY mods has led me to the already old, 2013 discussions, pre-sourcecode release.
It is now possible to mod D3 BFG edition, but nobody has done so? Why?

I don't even want a serious mod I just want trent reznors sounds back.

I know what you mean, in the original Doom 3 all the data files were plain text zipped up into pk4 files, you could open them up to modify, or create new ones with any decent zip program. Haven't checked out the BFG source, not sure what one would need to compile it. I still use those Trent Reznor sounds in original Doom 3, a lot 'meatier' sounding.
I think a lot of the people who did the best mods for Doom 3 have moved on to newer things, or even {gasp} real life concerns.

I know! the problem is that the game is SO old that modders no longer have interest in it, even though the BFG edition source code has been released.
I feel it won't make a difference but I wanted the community to know that if there are modders still out there, people still want doom 3 mods. It just seems like a shame that it doesn't have the modding community it used to.

Working on a map or two for the original version at the moment. Shame id has said nothing about mod support for the BFG edition though.

There is mod support now, source code was released. Just nobody wants to look through new, different code. and I can't cause I was barely any good at D3 modding.

You are saying that these things: sikkmod. wulfen_texture_pack_2.0 and zzz_parallaxfix should work with BGF Edition if someone, with the expertise, were willing to do so?

well, if someone had the patience to fiddle with the source code, in theory, yeah. the one thing i wish could be modded back in, is the EAX hardware sound. I'm not a modder myself, not on doom 3 at least. I modded c&c generals but that's only because everything can be modded in cfg form and put back into .big files. :|

Neither am I. The farthest I went was when I modded the flashlight in Doom 3 to one of ex girlfriends pictures and used to say that "she was my light through darkness", I wish I still had the screenshot... and her... oh well...

I think no one is going to mod BFG ever, what is a shame, because Doom 3 is really good but its default textures and lightning are nothing after you have played with Sikk mod and the Wulfen texture pack.

EDIT:

FOUND IT! It was in an old facebook album lol

I am still following this thread, but I fear that mods will never come to BFG ):
