ok try this,

A) Download the older OpenGL driver file

Download the following file:

Unzip this file and within you will find 64-bit and 32-bit directories. This specifies whether you have 64-bit or 32-bit Windows 7 or 8.

Copy the appropriate "atioglxx.dll" file for your operating system into the game directory where Doom3BFG.exe is located.

right click the Doom3bfg. exe and change compatibility to xpsp3 and tick box, run as admin

Launch and run the game normally (no need for anything else)

try the event log see if an error is popping up.

open up event viewer then select windows logs on the left, click application then on the right scroll and look for something with a yellow warning symbol or red exclamation that refers to the doom3bfg.exe

Hi Lurple,
It's a long-shot but try downloading the latest MSVC2010 file and either install it (or if it says it's already installed, pick the "Repair" option) ... then reboot and try Doom3 again.

The link is:

Good luck!
