Re:My Review OF Doom 3 BFG
When I played the original Doom 3, I was impressed; The graphics we're really good, the gameplay was solid, and the A.I. For the game was spot on. When I had heard ID Software we're re-releasing the game, I was curious to see how it would differ from the original. Second, if you have played the Original Doom 3, Don't buy this, seriously. This could have been better than it actually is. Reasons why I didn't care for this version are:

1. ID software, before the release we're saying this would have improved graphics, but if you have played the original and you have played this, they made the lighting brighter. Doom 3 was meant to be a dark and scary game.

2. When I played the original game, I liked the idea of having to switch to you're gun to you're flashlight, just to make it through the dark levels of the game, but with this, you're flashlight is mounted on you're shoulder. Also, In the original release, you used you're right hand to use the pistol, and with this, it's no different. They should have made it to where you used both hands to use the pistol, and not just one(Iron Sights)

3. While Their was an expansion pack released with the bfg edition(when the original game came out, you had to buy the expansion pack seperately).

4. While ID was saying this was an upgraded version, why not then put some new monsters to fight, instead of the same ones that we're in the original release and ppl who played the original already know how to take them out.

All in all, I was really hoping for a different gaming experience with this, but sadly, it didn't happen. The original Doom 3 was great, and this is just a muddled over pc to console port.I'm sticking with the Original. Better luck next time ID.

You desperately need to work on your grammar.

I think he is trolling. He purposely wrote a dumb review with minimal to non-existant grammar so that no one can actually understand what he is actually saying, and then he accuses other people for being trolls just because they dislike his review for valid reasons.

Yeah I have to admit I had a hard time really connecting with the subject because of the Attack of Unnecessary Apostraphies.

Thumbs down on this thread! It may actually have encouraged me to buy though.

Heck Guyz.. I bought the BFG Edition because I already have the original AND the expansion pack as well as the original Doom 1, 2, and addons for 2.. I just wanted the updated format so I could play them all on one machine.. And that is what it appears I got.

I haven't taken the time yet to actually compare the grafix to see if they are any better so I can't speak to the OP's accuracy of comments or validity. IF I note anything worth mentioning about it I don't know if I would even bother bringing it up with the trolls issue... Should stick the trolls in the game so we can blow them up!!! LOL

Yes, I own it. Not going to argue with you, troll
not saying you're observation/speculations are wrong but you don't own the game on the account you are posting these messages with so that leaves a few other options open. you either have another account that you own the game on, not real likely, or you bought it used/new in a brick and mortar store and didn't register it on your current steam account, also not likely, or you are a filthy, dirty pirate which seems to be much more likely...

Ok, people, for 1:I have owned the game since 2004(The Original), and 2:Look at itrolu, and you guys are saying I am trolling?

You are nobody either. Suck it up.
OP has right to pass us his thoughts on the game, and the only thing you do is attacking him.
Fail man, big time.

There is a review section of steam, just saying as you may want to use it.

That said, why all the hate? The OP is entitled to an opinion and is entitled to share it. I dont own doom 3 re-release and so i came here to see if its worth buying now its on sale because im very skeptical - i played doom 3 on release, is this any different?

i did, there are some minor aesthetic changes and a few new mobs (i think, point 4 is a bit confusing are you saying they should have added new mobs or that they did?).

Doom was never a very scary game and i played it when i was far too young to be playing 'horror' games so the changes of lighting dont bother me but they arnt a reason to buy this.

Alls they added was the expansion packs that you had to buy seperately when the original came out, made the lighting brighter, and as said, if you upgrade from regular to bfg, your mods go bye bye.

i never did play the expansion packs but mods > expansions any day. Unless anyone wants to inform me of something else they added then ill give this game a miss. OP was useful, and while it doesnt really belong here i dont see why all the hate.
