You know I bought Doom 3 BFG thinking "Hey I love Doom and I can't wait to play Doom 3..." Then I figured out I had to be a computer expert and fix drives thats already on my computer just so I can play the bloody game .... like whats the point man this is so aggravating Bethesda honestly please fix this stupid error im not going to mess up my drives for this game....

Honestly, Its not Bethesda's fault that Doom will not run on your computer. Having and owning a PC can be alot of work compared to consoles. If you are unable to properly update and take care of your PC I highly recommend switching to a console. You do not need to mess with drivers and settings on a console.

If youre going to say "Oh but pc has better graphics and i like moust and keyboard"
Then please take some time like the rest of us and learn to properly take care of a computer.
Very frustrating to see games take huge negative hits simply because of user errors.

You can go to AMD.com or Nvidia.com if you have an ati or nvidia card. They have an auto-detect setup as well if you dont know what video card you have. Althought id suggest looking your card up to make sure youre downloading the right one.

You need to DL the catalyst drivers as well as the ATI update http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+7+-+32 if 32 bit or http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+7+-+64 there are ones for xp and other oses if you need them just ask. As for the ATI update you'll need to put this " http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?atioglxx make sure that the file is unzipped/also out of the folder from the unzip" in the Doom 3 BFG folder in the steam app/common folder. Athlon is a processor not a GPU btw unless you mean an integrated GPU.

Well if you dont have a GPU then you really shouldn't be playing 3D games in general really unless you have an apu, which I'm pretty sure you don't because AMD hasn't made an anthlon CPU in years. BTW what seperates pc gamers from console gamers is the fact that we understand our hardware, if you don't want to take the time to learn something to better yourself and your knowledge in general, then don't ever game on pc, consoles are made for people like you.

Actually AMD has a new series of APU that came out last year which was the richland series.
