Any tips? My rig is old, but come on, this is barely harder to run than the vanilla Doom 3 . .

Your GPU is old. OpenGL 2.1 only perhaps.

You might want trying updating drivers, but chances are you are not going to be able to run BFG engine because it requires OpenGL 3.2.

Note if you are on WindowsXP, nothing will help you.

And come on, Doom 3 BFG engine is half-idTech 5 and half-idTech 4. In other words, it's the engine from Rage running Doom 3 content. So no, you can't say "oh, Doom 3 runs on my PC, BFG should too".

Well no, I'm not saying that, I was just saying that the game doesn't look significantly beefed up over the original game.
Doesn't matter how it looks. If the engine is designed for a new hardware, even if the game will look like original Doom, it still won't run.

Fair enough. I'm just frustrated, the computer I have is extremely old and I'm constantly trying to find a way to make older games run on it. Guess this one won't work haha! Thanks for your tips though.

honestly i tested this with my old gt 620 and my old radeon 4200 HD. the 4200 HD runs RAGE at 30 frames all lowest and my GT 620 can run this on low with somewhat high resoluation. if his gpu is older than the 4200 hundred dont expect to be able to run much wit hthat

I ran this game with a GTS 240 on a dell vostro. You have to update the drivers, and the AI didn't really get redone...just the lighting and the textures.
