Pros:
Controller Support
Has Doom 1 Ultimate, Doom 2 w/ new levels, and Ressurection of Evil
Flashlight with all weapons

Cons:
Not Moddable
Doom 1+2 are butchered versions, plus ZDoom does a better job
Graphics are not improved in any way, with exception of lighting
"lost Episode" was already in Doom 3, this is more catered to the console release

It's an Okay release if you want a Vanilla Doom 3 with Controller for Big Picture mode, otherwise just get the originals+ZDoom for a better Keyboard+Mouse Experience

What he said, but there's also a new mission to doom 3 other than ROE.

Aren't these all running on the new engine from Rage?

'butchered' can you explain what you mean by this?

Here were my cons:

- In the RoE mission they removed the two most interesting parts: the distorted-graphics acid suit segment, and the action battle room in hell before the final boss.

- Classic doom doesn't have a "strafe" button (traditionally mapped to "alt") so oldschool muscle memory doesn't work if you used to play with the keyboard.

- Easy modes are now ridiculously easier.

yeah man, those 2 sections in the original version of "RoE" were way more challenging, and the battle room in Hell can actually be done with your Berserker Fists (and maybe the Double-Barrel Shotgun for any leftover Imps before the Artifact effect wears off)

so they were in the disc but never released to because they felt it use up to much memory or just simply because it wouldnt make sense with the story? or simply because they felt it was important

not to mention, the RAGE easter egg appears in the final level as pushable brick wall

You just can't.
The lost missions were made after doom 3 and ROE. That's why it's a mix of both.
It's not accessible in original doom because it did not exist yet for doom 3

I've been curious re Doom BFG Edition and am glad to see this thread.
The consensus is that the better games are Doom 1, 2 and 3 rather than BFG...Is that correct ?
