BFG Edition or Regular + Expansion?
I already have the classic collection of Doom so I was wondering if the BFG Edition is worth it seeing as I already have the old games. Also Can You Run It said I can run the original Doom 3 on minimum settings but not BFG Edition. Should I take a chance with the BFG edition and hope it runs well or should I just stick with the original doom 3 plus explansion?

if you want the achievements, go for it. i saw a lot of graphical comparisons & it seems the BFG edition has slightly better lighting. i have the original versions as well, so i'm on the same boat. i'd get it for $5, but sadly it seems it'll stay at $9.99 for the summer sale.

Hardware does the BFG edition need a more powerful system? I can do Bioshock 1 on low settings but still with a shakey FPS. I have a AMD E-300 processor at 1.3 ghz of speed on a Radeon HD 6310 GPU. The BFG edition seems to have better things going for it (extra campaign, better lighting etc.) but I don't want to get the BFG edition if the FPS is going to be lower than the original. Also I don't do mods at all so modding isn't that important to me. Does anybody know if there is any demos available for the original or the BFG edition?

Seeing as Quake Con is just around the corner (July 17th I think?) they ALWAYS have a doom sale in which is 75% off. I plan on getting it then along with some Quake games that's why I'm asking ahead of time.

I think BFG has the same lighting in technological sense, only the lighting is brigther. It's not so dark anymore but in some places and on some textures the bright colors become too washed out.

For Doom 1 and 2 - you can buy them separately in Steam, you'll get them wihtout censorship and will be able play them using free source port like GZDoom, which is better (for my eyes, and more customization) than D3BFG built-in old classic doom engine.

The D3BFG exclusive lefels - Lost Mission - have very, very bad and stupid and boring level design. Almost waste of time. Lost Mission was not made by id itself but outsourced to some other developer.
