Black screen perists after a minute of start up,

I launch the game and i hear the sounds but nothing is being displayed. Anyone know what i can do to fix this?

It was my desktop resoultion as in the game doesn't support it which results in that so I had to go to the bfg game files open it and where it says fullscreen I needed that to be off and launch the game go under to options and pick a resoultion in game then go fullscreen.

I don't remember where the games ini files are at as they are not in steam apps but maybe u might be able to use the launch options in steam to force it in windowed mode.

Oh, I see. Above didn't work for me. Before patch, blue screen with OpenGL problem and no game load. After patch, game loads, I can select which Doom to play and even select Doom 3, and make resolution changes that work including my default 1366x768, and both Doom 1 and Doom 2 run fine. When I try to run Doom 3, it runs the loading screen and then all I get is a black blank screen with no sound. I've tried the lowest resolution that's on the selection menu but no dice just the black screen. Tried DLL and game won't load at all. Tried command line, no dice. I must be missing something or it's not going to play on my system. I feel like it should as I got the original Doom 3 to after installing the patch for it. Thanks for the infor.....

i am having an issue that when i start up it flashes white and i can slightly see the picture, but it hurts my eyes really bad. i thought that it was an installation issue so i deleted it and reinstalled it, but that didn't do it, still doing the same thing. start, flash, my eyes hurt and i alt f4. lol
