Memory leak in newest build?
I've had Endless space for several months now. I played it quite often at first, then took a month or two long break. I cam back to it today and was very pleased to find several new features. Awesome!

However, i noticed that as time went by, the beginning-of-turn actions were beginning to drag down. I used to have no slowdowns at all while playing endless space; buttons and tooltips were immediate and responsive. But in the current game, 300 turns in, it takes nearly 30 seconds just for the notifications to appear. If i click on one of them while they notifications are still appearing, it takes several seconds for the information to load and it does so peicemeal (first the window appears, then the pictures a few seconds later, then the text, for example) At first i thought the slowdown was because of the AI opponents making decisions for that turn. It was a small map; only 2 AI factions with about a dozen stars apiece.

Eventually the entire game just ground to a halt. I ctrl-alt-dlt'd and saw that Endless space was using 2.4 gigabytes of memory. I have a high-end system (Asus Sabretooth990FX mobo, Phenom 975 Black edition processor, EVGA GTX550TI 1gig video card, and 8 gigabytes of memory) and it runs every game I've thrown at it in High or better settings, endless space included (previously, at least).

I'm playing Endless Space on a 4 year old Macbook Pro (under windows 7) and can play for hours at a time with no slow down. How long a period of time does this take for you to have an issue?
i get slowdowns after 200-400 turns, depending on galaxy size and number of AIs. generally that's about an hour or two.
Yep, there's noticeable performance drop after ~150 turns. But I'm not yet sure if that's a memory leak or just Mac capabilities. I'm running Mac Mini by the way.

I've run into the slowdown, leading all the way to a crash at around turn 270. Core i7 PC with 16GB of ram here.
Game works perfect until Turn ~ 250. Its playable but the slowdown sucks. I dont think the size of the Galaxy and/or fractions really matters because the normal pc nowadays have more then enough power for this game. (i7,8gb ram,1gb gforce,win7)
I've noticed that after save->exit->restart->load sequence it works normally again so it must be memory leaks.
It's not memory leak if the problem is still here after quit and restart. Memory leak is you play during the same session and when the session is long enough problems occur that disappear if you quit and restart the game.

250 turns, well I'm a bit more than 150.... with 50+ hours played only for this first game, lol. So about the 250 turns problem I can't say anything for my Mac and have yet to try the game on XP.

Dorok, i don't beleive anyone here has said the problems persist after a restart. Several here (myself included) can get some speed back by restarting. Thus, the amateur analysis does strongly indicate memory leak.
It wasn't clear for me, sorry if I misunderstood. Myself I make very long game sessions and have no problem, but each isn't much turns, I can hardly imagine a 250 turn session as some post seem mention when myself it's 70+ hours for less than 200 turns. :-)
