This game is slow
I mean i like the game its fun. But the turn system is horrendously slow, im patient but the turns really really make the game move so much slower when your trying to move through turns when you are just expanding or waiting for something to build. Other then that, pretty good.

I had been playing w/ 8 AI and a huge map and it was kinda slow. Yeah just drop the AI a bit if it really bothers you. They have a lot to think about...

Hey thanks for the response will try.

If you haven't beat the game at least once yet, just chose one faction to compete for dominance with but make sure it is an aggressive one...two societys just building on technology is a rather long and monotonous way of winning.

But this way it will help with your speed quite a bit.

Im fortunate to be running an Aurora R4 with SSD, 16gb Ram and an GTX 690 4gb and mine slows down after a couple of hundred turns. Can't be the rig, so has to be the game unfortunately!

Mine is homebuilt so I got it for far less than what storebought PCs go for but my 2gh, a Geforce 9800gt and 4gb ram system doesn't have any slow down at all. So it isn't me so to say and I have played long enough....wait...

... oh I remember now, a LITTLE bit slowdown when I am running Graphics full scale graphics and playing with seven computer components between turns, but when the turn is completely over, it switches back to just fine. Not something that I want to complain about but I'm just saying.

Yes, but I doubt there is much they can do about it. Decision making for AI in a game as complex as this just requires a lot of work to crunch out. I remember playing Civ IV around its release and having to wait 2 minutes per turn on a massive map with a large number of players.

My computer can handle it. I am not bragging, I am just older as an adult and my wife and I spurge on the parts that I homebuild into a computer...no offense if yours is weaker. I am just trying to show that it IS POSSIBLE to run the game smoothly with the current available hardware.

And when I buy a part, I won't spend more than $200 per part and this includes the motherboard and again for the graphics card.

...okay, my motherboard AND processor went for $217 but shut up.

What level your graphics are on has very little effect on what we are talking about. OP is talking about the time between turns.

Where did that all come from. I'm not offended but I was commenting on earlier when someone was talking about their game going really slow. I was more saying it is the processing power and not the game itself. I wasn't comparing man sizes and I understand that some people don't spend that much on their PC and that is fine.

I was more showing that this CAN be fixed and it isn't the same for everyone. I was more trying to help and thanks for your snotty comment. Okay, to be fair, I made that last comment to make fun of myself and not others, sorry for that.
