RELEASE NOTES [1.1.39] - The Vaulters


Hello,

The new patch for Endless Space should be available by any time now, but here's a little explanation on our changes, in addition to the release notes.


CHANGES ON THE HARMONY & VAULTERS

The Harmony
Changes done in order to resolve their issue of starting systems way slower than the other races and thus making them more competitive we added a new ability.

Harmony now gets a 2 FIS bonus on their system for each orbiting ship up to 2x the CP max. It helps them to compensate the buyout and to profit from the lack on upkeep of their fleet by either cheap ship in early to accelerate the development or later defensive fleet to keep a considerable bonus with the end game CP limit.


The Vaulters
In first place, Vaulters were immune against disapproval but it was not fun enough. So we added a little gameplay twist; now only system with Portals are not counted for the expansion disapproval and the counter part is that the expansion disapproval is 3 times stronger for a Vaulter.

Still too easy huh? Well, to reinforce the defensive aspect of the Vaulter, the Portal can now only be built on a system with 100% ownership.

In addition to that, we modified their unique improvement: now, only one is needed in the Empire and it will produce 1% of Science on Empire per Portal. The counterpart is, the construction of the building reduces by 66% the Science on all systems.

CHANGES AND ADDITIONS [DISHARMONY DLC]
  • Implemented the new Harmony Resonance bonus: + 2 FIS / ORBITING SHIP UP TO 2x CP MAX
  • Added a new property to manage the dynamic cap of Harmony new bonus. This property is shown in the affinity tooltip (2*Max command pop)
  • Added new localisation key for Harmony affinity to explain their new bonus
  • Increased the reduction on civilian modules for all colonization hulls

CHANGES AND ADDITIONS [VAULTERS]
  • Expansion Disapproval multiplied by 3 for Vaulters
  • Systems with Portals aren’t count for Expansion Disapproval
  • The unique Vaulter improvement (the Portal particle screen) now takes 15 turns to be built
  • The unique Vaulter improvement provokes a loss of Science (- 66%) during its construction
  • Only one unique Vaulter improvement is needed to generate Science from all the Portals
  • Added new properties to manage the gain of Science on Empire from Portals

FIXES [DISHARMONY & VANILLA]
  • Fixed an Alliance bug when in some cases making peace with another Alliance was impossible
  • Fixed an issue on the creation of an Alliance in the multiplayer between two human players, when one is already in an Alliance
  • Fixed a bug regarding creation of colony ship when using the "Wasted Space" trait
  • Fixed a bug on the prefab of the Hissho Colony ship

FIXES [VAULTERS]
  • Fixed the Vaulters appearance title and tooltip description from the custom race menu
  • Fixed bug where the teleportation FX of the Vaulters was played even if the fleet didn’t move

interesting changes, have to hop right in and give it a try :)
I saw "Endless" and for a second I thought it was an update for "Dungeon of The Endless" :(

But nice update though^^.

Very interesting. I see a Harmony game in the future.
neat I like the changes to harmony, still bummed that we cant play with the vaulters unless we buy the other game...., I hope you guys are making another expansion like you did with harmony. Oh and if we could include the ability to have "allied victories" that would be awesome , first time I played multiplayer I allied with a friend, was disapointed that after 3 days only he won since he made the alliance first while me who did all the heavy lifting still "lost" because hur dur alliance maker is true winner
Well the vaulter changes explains why I loaded my game from last night and went from obscene research rate to almost 0. Since I had several of their unique improvement built. Cost me that game. :P

I did not see this, thats reasurring :D though I would be perfectly ok with a variant of the vaulters that have waaay more points to start with be left to the pre order people, that way every one gets the race but theirs is superior yet fair to all
with this release im seeing Overpopulation disapproval on planets that aren't full, and ive been having crashes where an error log pops up, hitting continue does nothing, maybe ill just start a new game
I keep getting this error in multiplayer where it wil lsay I have a differnt version of hte game then my friend, I verified the catche and its all good on my end same with him, anyone else get that?
Just noticed this update. Glad to see the Harmony getting some love here. Gonna have to give them another shot as soon as my current amoeba game is done. Thanks!

THEY ARE OP NOW, slow to start but once you get the ball rolling they are meeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaan, granted I am running a custom version, tolerance 2 efffecient stock, 15% more hull space 30% more hull hp, only thing that stops me hardcore atm is being stone walled by an aggressive early game ai like the cravers\


still beatable but very strong now, I just hope they add more map types -_-

Started a game with the vanilla faction. It is very nice right now.... Only thing in my way are those F'n Cravers that started on the opposite side of the map from me (and now own way too much territory...).

+1000 on the new maps!
I used to think that too. I like them being in my game though. It offsets the other factions not being able to stand up against me. My current Harmony game I mentioned, I ended up warping in 3-4 fleets and a seige fleet, took one world, then spread out from there. I now own about 30% of my side of the map (twin eliptical I believe), and about 90% of what the Cravers previously had... Harmony might be a bit op atm...

I like their niche even though I hate fighting them.

Harmony has power, there is no mistaking that, but that power comes in late game once they are able to get the containment fields that allow them to kill dust production, before then they can often lag behind due to disharmony penalitys, ship population growth penalty and the fact that my might not be able to use halve of the planets in their system, Arid and Desert planets will kill your game. Also the lack of heros and the ability to buy out items slows the faction further. Now i will admit that in the early game its not that difficult to pump out colony ships, but does invite early wars that will tie you up in fighting.
