A few comments after playing
So far I really enjoy this game. It feels ballanced MOST of the time (though for the life of me I don't know hwo everyone else has a better sniper than I can make) and with the exception of some break downs right after downloading it, there really haven't been any bugs that I've found.

Now there are a few things I'd like to see happen by lauch. One would be a reduction in the amount of SpaceBucks needed to buy a lot of the things, at least for your skin. Yes I know it's microtransactions, but seeing a price tag of around 5000 when I rarely make over 50 each round, is kind of a bummer. It also gives a bit of a 'pay to win' kind of feal when the gun parts cost a good amount.

Another thing I'd like to see is a greater variation in basic characters to choose from. There's the white guy who missed leg day the gym, and the black guy who missed leg day at the gym. Wouldn't mind seeing a fat guy or two, possibly one who was slimmer, and as well as some different races, not to mention females. Perhaps these different body types could change the stats of your player. Maybe the fat guy is slower, but could soak up more dammage. The slim guy is a runner but weaker.

In addition to that, different 'idle' facial expressions would be nice instead of that thousand yard stare.

Also, I'm not sure if voice chat even works. There's no icon that shows that either you or someone else is talking and I never hear anyone else talking. There have been plenty of times when I've been playing Jackhammer where being able to quickly communicate with my teammates would have helped a lot.

TL;DR:

Good game (though I hesitate calling it 'great' yet) that could use some detail work before being called done.

To be fair, the higher tier parts hardly have an effect. Unless it's a straight up new item (such as Compact Stock, Laser Guidance, Salvo, etc.) its stats will be barely better than the lower tier variant. A new currency is in the works (Blutes I think they're called) which I assume will be used to cover buying parts and things that actually affect gameplay. There's also a research tree or something being worked on to unlock parts, possibly infinite amounts as a result. As for cosmetics, they have no impact on gameplay and are meant to give you something to buy. Like SMNC was: it's not pay-to-win, it's pay-to-pretty.

Helga's coming soon, a female body type. I think she's going to be released in either the next major update or the one after. I think they've mentioned that anything that can slow you down, even of your own voliation, is not going to happen and anything cosmetic will rarely have an effect on gameplay (the golf taunt is currently the only cosmetic with an effect: it uses a grenade but is near impossible to aim). That said I think a chunky character would be fitting of the game's comical style.

There's more information about what's coming soon on the official forums.

Thanks for the feedback!

We are working on major changes for functional progression, but not for cosmetics. With the cosmetics, there is currently a fair amount of variety, even though there are only two base models. Click the randomize button repeatedly, to see the variety.

As ZN said, there is a new base character on the way, but I'm not sure when she will be ready.

There isn't any voice chat, yet. There is some placeholder stuff in the UI - sorry about the confusion. We'll probably add some chat macro keys first, to help promote teamwork.
