Why so inactive?
Just like topic says. I've had my eyes on this game for quite some time. I love the style and it seems extremely fun. But since it's an online game I really see no point in buying it when it's so inactive.. How come it actually is this inactive, anyone knows? :S

It is most certainly active! If you're basing it off of these forums, don't. Go to the actual game's forums and you'll see how active it is.

I never can stay in a que for more then 2 seconds, even on the weirdest days and the weirdest hours.

Okay, so people can play it without steam or what? I based the assumption of it being inactive because of these figures: http://steamcharts.com/app/208090

Are you comparing it to other games in Early Access, or games that have been released?
draztic Jul 26, 2013 @ 7:08am
Other early access games mostly. But the thing that bugs me is that the game seems so incredibly amazing and yet people havent seen it.

It seems like most people are waiting for it to hit open beta. I think they just don't want to drop money on a f2p if they don't have to. (It's very worth it though.)

Yeah, alot of my friends are to greedy to apparently pay for anything, so they wait for open beta. And im quite sure there is quite a crowd waiting to get in.

Will there be microtransactions in the game since it's F2P? I hope you wont be able to buy OP stuff.. How's the business plan? I mean obviously you need to make money to stay aflot :D

There is already microtransactions in the game. This is a post i made in a different thread replying to how you would need to see this system and why its an great f2p system that only relies on some people that are heavily investing in better looking characters so that the f2p players will not have any disadvantages:

Quote: guy asked some questions about the f2p system and the packages sold.

"-its.. uhmm.. pay to save a little time to get some small advantages restricted by level that free players can simply get to.
The system works like this. You have spacebux which you can buy with money or get by doing matches ... gun parts cost spacebux. The first gun (made out of tier 1 parts) you make i believe costs nothing so you can put that one aside
So.. you have a chassis of a gun (which is free) .. then you can put parts on it (aside from the first gun as that will give the tier 1 parts you want for free). Tier 1 parts cost like.. 1-2 matches if your lucky or 3-5 if unlucky. Tier 2 parts cost more spacebux.. BUT to get tier 2 parts you need to unlock tier 2 parts with special points.. you get these points for completing contracts (kinda like achievements.. they say like "you get 2 points if you get 30 kills", "kill the hammercarrier 4 times for 2 points" etc. (you can have max 3 active contracts) .. so you need to do contracts (thus do matches/level up) to get those points.
Now an example of how much "higher tiers matter" .. for example a rocketlauncher with 60 dmg ... if you upgrade for example the bullet-part (slugrocket in this case) from tier 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 ... you get like 0.50 dmg more. And tier 4 is the max...
so there you go, you judge if its fair :P in my opinion it is.

- Leveling exp goes quite fast and unless you really want a specific spell that has a very high lvl requirement.. you wont feel any pressure to level up for sure.
Spacebux goes a bit slower (devs have said they are looking for a better way to make sure people get enough spacebux) .. atm it works with a spinningwheel and thus is luckbased.
You can have like 5 matches and get a total of 1000 spacebux ... or you can do 5 matches and get a nice empty bag of nothing :D
You also have a chance to win items with the spinningwheel or by leveling up

- the basic pack gives some cosmetic belts .. the differences are very slight, but still.. its just an extra on addition to the gained spacebux. You also a standard grenadelauncher and healingthingy ... now.. as i already said the tiers etc. dont matter alot. So.. these starter weapons actually are quite good .. combine it with your first homemade gun and you have already quite some choice for gameplaystyles.
Now the most important thing .. 6000 spacebux.
If you first get some points by doing contracts etc. to open up later tiers .. 6000 spacebux is enough to buy about all/most max tier parts for 1 complete gun (but ofcourse if you start off with buying tier 1 parts upgrade them to 2 etc. etc. you wont have fully enough with just the starteramount ( ofcourse you will be gathering spacebux so i wouldnt worry to much).
OR 6000 spacebux gives you some cosmetic items.. things like small items as boots etc. vary from 200-100 while bigger thins like black suits, naked suits etc. range from 1000 to 6000 (ofcourse the most expensive ones are only for the real show-offs.. clothing adds NOTHING to the dmg/survivability/gameplay aside from the looks)"

That sounds great! I think they should try to do it as much as League of Legends as possible (It's obviously a great economic strategy). If people never feel forced to buy fun items they will choose to support the company! Thanks for the long reply, Timeraider

i prefer the dota2 system which is more based on cosmetics. At LoL they still kinda force you to either play their choices of the week... or buy heroes.

Thats what I love about LoL tho. That carrot to keep on leveling and keep on playing after you reach max level. Makes it a bit mmorpg-ish since it's basically like farming cash for your next badass weapon ^^

People aren't prepared to pay money for a game that WILL be f2p when it comes out of early access.

The dota system wouldn't work here due to the concept of the game, being to build a weapon and kill people, if it was based on cosmetics every weapon would be pretty much the same and the idea of the game would just die and the game would just die.
