athletic bilbao is a club with deeply rooted tradition... so not only all of the players must be spanish, they also have to come from certain region of spain - basque

there is a filter in player search screen so you can see which players are from basque region.

not many clubs stand by their values and traditions these days. It's a bit crazy policy but have to give them some respect.

well Zenit fans say that they want an "All-Russian Team" which is fine for them, but the criteria for that all-russian team is simply "whites-only" (which excludes several ethnicities and mixed-race peoples past the Urals and South towards the Caucasas, however you spell them) and no homosexuals. Are you saying that only whites and heterosexuals are a fair recruitment policy? I think most people could agree to ignorance on that part

The Zenit fans want this not the Club itself. Players like Hulk and Axel Witsel who were bought for nearly £80 million combined has not gone down well with the Fans of the club at all, Because they are Black. The Club itself has no such policy, they are not racist. Just a minority of the fans.

For info i think the Athletic is the only bug club without jersey sponsor. and the "recruitement policy" is lighter than before when only players formed at Bilbao can be part of the team.

Another little thing : you don't have to be spanish, but baska. It means some french players can be signed, but some southern american too !
