They are made so they fit my playing style, and i am sitting heavely on the top of the table with swansea, so i guess they work.
My current team is rated as a mid-table side and i play counter attack in most games against top clubs and even similar rated ones with control against weaker sides, we are playing well above expectations this season too.
Your style should fit with the type of players you have too, no good playing control if your team is poor at retaining possesion and set to fight against relegation, your simply not going to control most of the opposition. Control is for when you expect to be the better team and have more possesion. If you go with control and find the opposition dominating you i'd suggest going to balanced or counter-attack.
If your not sure starting balanced (middle setting) is good as it allows you to assess the situation.
