Hi guys this what I have done and it was fixed.

Right click--> Properties---> Local content and select verify game cache. That should do the trick

I tried that and still nada @Noname

Edit: Ah ha success. I thought I had updated my graphics driver but after trying to load the nvidia control panel it kept crashing so I went online, downloaded the most recent update for my graphics driver and its working.

Still no luck for me. Drivers are updated and game cache has been cleared.

I want to know, how I fix this too! ;/ ..

j_tidlund - right mouse click on the game file in your library and choose properties than the tab local content and select verify game cache. Didn't work for me ten times but maybe you'll have some luck.

Just had another Nvidia driver update and the game still doesn't work.

this advice from Noname did the trick for me with no need for updating drivers etc:

Right click--> Properties---> Local content and select verify game cache.

Glad to see it helped most of you guys. For the other try msconfig and try to disable existing firewall antivirus. then Reupdate the video drivers and follow the same process as above. This should resolve the problem.
