Forums are created when a game is released.

But...the game is released. You can't say, "Yeah, but it's only beta". Beta and early release games have Steam forums all the time. Actually, they're especially important for beta and early release games.

When i go on "Community - Discussion (or whatever its called in english)" i see there is 14 post on FM14 forum, when i click to see them i am redirected to the store page.

Dunno what is it going, but 2 weeks ago i could have access to it, there was not much post at this time.

They probably blocked it due to negative comments that are stopping people jumping on the FM14 bandwagon. I'd like to get it but I'm becoming more concerned that there hasn't been SIGNIFICANT progress since FM09...that's a LOT of time and money to keep putting into the same game over and over.

FM13 introduced better player and press interaction (finally) but all the others between 09 and 13 didn't really do much to alter the game and the yearly FMs are fast becoming little more than team updates. I, for one, am getting tired of the constant "match engine improvements" that are largely insignificant.

MrMuse, spot on. FM14 this year is FM13 with a £30 patch!
MrMuse Oct 18, 2013 @ 11:32am
And, to be honest, with the games market the way it is currently - where you can get new titles at a quarter of the cost just a couple of months after release and good indie titles popping out at £2 - £12 I don't think there is a place for new games that cost £30-£40 even if they WERE actually full new games.

Been playing FM14 its improved tactics for both the team as a whole and individual player greatly, given you more player/manager relations thats all the changes I can really think of
luckymarine Oct 19, 2013 @ 4:17am
Nothing has changed, they've bolted on a different tactic interface and thats about it.
Updated player lists and you have interviews for jobs which are all too easy to get through.

Its 2013 in a pretty dress with all the failings still glaringly obvious.
You'll still shout at the inept players running around like headless chickens in the match engine.

What's the point really? Most people never bothered with the old and useless tactics editors anyway. They stick to 1 or 2 formations, win everything with them by their 2nd or 3rd season, and that's about it. But the freakin game is so addictive that even though i KNOW it's the same game it's still hard to resist throwing away £35 quid on it.

I'm not sure what it says about the various iterations of the game but here are my playing hours since steam:

09 - 752
10 - skipped
11 - 192
12 - 379
13 - 404

Wonder what I'd give to have that time back when I'm on my deathbead? Heh.
*edit* I think 10,11, and 12 were just tinkering with what was already in 09 and struggling to make player interaction work AT ALL - 13 finally got some progress on that front and on the press interaction - other than that these numbers clearly show which game represented the best value. Or maybe it's just because I skipped 10. Moral of the story? Buy it every other year.

Plus am I the only person that thinks a propper steam hotseat is well overdue?
They need to forget the silly match engine tweeking and sort out the broken multiplayer.
Or even throw out the match engine completely. I know the managerial aspects of the FIFA management games were crap but using the FIFA engine to show match games was a lot better than watching a few pixels blobbing around a green square. Has there really been a significant change to the match engine since the old Champ Man days of dots with numbers on them? On the upside, most of us are probably now well qualified for jobs as Spreadsheet Analysts.

Haha i should try that!

Don't forget that type of game (sport game) if you really like it, you will play it all the years ! for a number of year you certainly can't even imagine with any other game (outside online games).

And well, while i know the price is quite high, wait few month and it will already start to drop. I got FM13 for 25€ on amazon which i think was a great price.

But well, this year i had the money and just can't resist from buying it.

Well, looking for something different, I just tried Football Mogul 2012 (it's American Football) which is completely free and a nice change in management games. It's quite accessible to those of us who know nothing about American Football (unlike the apparent leader in those games Front Office Football - which is complicated and confusing).

I disagree with many people's opinion that the new game is a patch, the whole thing has been improved drastically, i loved the 2013 but this has blown it out the water

I really dont like the new tactics of 2014 :/ alot fewer options. And i have played every single football manager even since they where called championship manager :/
