TL;DR: If you like your music collection and shoot'em up games, you'll like this game.
The gameplay, I have to say, isn't all that innovative - shoot'em ups have been done over and over for decades, but this one is a little different. The music recognition system varies up the gameplay a lot - slow and calm songs will make enemies appear in an orderly fashion, fast and complex songs will make enemies appear quickly from all around, putting your hand-eye coordination to the test. The music recognition isn't perfect, but does its job - the gameplay gets more frantic with higher tempo, special enemies appear at fitting moments, and the subwoofer weapon fires stronger the louder a song's bass line is. You can play any song at any difficulty level, unlocking higher difficulty levels over time. This way, the game is easy the first time you pick it up, but can turn into a bullet hell shooter by the end. Plus, it has that "just one more level" effect that makes it addictive - you want to find out how this song is gonna look like, what item that song will get you, etc.
The graphics of the game aren't technologically mind-blowing, but look gorgeous and sparkling with colors.
The music, of course, is the best there is - your own ;). The few tracks that are included are nothing special and you'll need to add more to unlock more and better weapons.
Personally, I sometimes think of this game as an advanced music visualizer, not only displaying pretty shapes, but also allowing you to interact with music. I think of it less as a shooting challenge, and more as a fun way to listen to music.
