You are correct that the whole point of Symphony is to play your own music; if for some technical reason you cannot play any of it, you should definitely get your money back! We put a lot of effort into making sure we supported as much user music as possible (.APE files anyone?), but due to the vast amount of content out there there are bound to be some issues.
If you haven't already, I would check the pinned posting "Music not showing up? Here's why!" post in this forum to see if that covers any of your cases (especially DRM music). Then, definitely e-mail me at support at emptyclipstudios.com and we will try to work out what's going on.
Thanks,
Francois

I had this same issue with Audiosurf when I tried to play m4a files just a few days ago. Restarting the computer fixed it.
Why make your ears bleed with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ YouTube rips with so many alternatives available? SciLor's Grooveshark Downloader anyone?
