any strategy for Spinel and later levels?
I was going fine until I reached Spinel. Then, I tried beating this stage for 1h30m, but was unable to. Is there any strategy to it or is it all about mouse speed?

I am stuck on zircon, the level after. As far as i can tell, it helps a ton to try and make long chains instead of a bunch of short ones. That seemes to help more note pieces come out. Although I am not sure.

Another thing you can try is to lower resolution to smallest, 640x480. so a little mouse movement covers a lot of game space.

What I really would like is an option to tone down some of the effects. Sometimes when it goes crazy with flashes I have a hard time seeing the white pieces.
First of all, disable One Button Mode and start playing. When many pieces appear on your screen, just... pause the game and link them easily. Then resume game and detonate your chain. Repeat is as many as you need. I found it today just by accident. It's strange but works well - beated Ruby in fourth try. It's also another proof how poorly this game is coded. Luckily I can already forget about it.
I was flying until Zircon (37). Just bum out at 31 all the time. What is the strategy to generate notes?

at the bottem left you can see a bar that fills with fragments you get from exploding chains. once the bar reaches the middle circle you get a note on your grid. I havent had the patience to test this yet but i think longer chains generate more fragments (up to 3 notes for a single max-lenght-chain).

Also if you're having trouble with some levels, just hit escape to pause and build your chains. You can even detonate them in pause mode but it will start only once you unpause.
