A Virus Named TOM
Impressive
I'm always on the lookout for fun local co-op games my son can play with his friends. I bought this game and so far they're having a blast with it. The design, game play and presentation are all top-notch. You can really see the love and effort that went into creating it. I know there's lots of great indie titles out there (i.e. competition), but this title really deserves more attention (i.e. sales). This game is a great value even at the regular price. Major kudos to the developer, well done!

Thank you so much. I just saw this and Holly (wife/art dept) is here, so I read it aloud. I'm so happy that they're having fun with it, and that they're playing LOCAL CO-OP! It's tough with so many games out there, but when someone notices all that love and effort it makes it all seem worthwhile. I do hope we get more attention because we'd like to keep making em :)

Thanks for taking the time to write that, know that it made our night! Hailey is only 1 right now but I'm sure it'll be fun to watch her play it with her friends if I can turn her into a gamer ;)
Yeap, we still has real friends and girlfriends in spite of big devs and publishers think that PC gamers are lonely immature fat virgins... who prefer high resolutions to gameplay.
Look how they cut splitscreen in multiplatform AAA-titles because of 'technical difficulties'... Yeah, technical difficulties... can't spend another buck to make some more people happy. Because why bother? No one has friends on PC? But I do. And I don't like how they just cut chunks of gameplay. (somehow indie devs manage to have no 'technical difficulties' (dungeon defenders of example), but that's another story). But really... I do care about local multiplayer a lot more than about visuals.
And here you come, all indie and all budget but including local multiplayer in your PC only (!!!) game without any excuses. Maybe it's not greatest game ever, but you are my hero. We gotta support this cause all together.

Sorry, no harm in bump.

p.s.: cry from a soul. I still remember how I pre-ordered Far Cry 3 because they stated there will be local coop. And then they cut it. And no steam nor ubi gave me refund, saying something that nothing changed and go away :D that's the difference. that's how they care about their players. :)
I'm sorry to interrupt your rant, but the decision to include/exclude local co-op and multi-player in a game isn't just about developers willingness or technical prowess. The decision is largely based on whether or not local co-op and/or multi-player is suitable for the design and style of the game.

Thanks for this :) Adding local co-op ended up taking a lot more time than I thought since I ended up adding unique mechanics and making all the levels co-op specific (more about that here[www.gamasutra.com] if your a design nerd). So it's awesome to hear from people that play local co-op!

I wish we'd had the money to make it networked, and expose the level editor. We still want to, I'm just scared we wont fund a kickstarter if we tried it for them. We're told by devs who have been there that networking is a big undertaking. We started doing the DLC in the meantime while we figure out where things are at. Hope you enjoyed the snow :)

Bacteriaman: Very valid point. We designed AVNT around local from the beginning, so we kept the camera static, etc. Splitting the screen is a necessary evil for some types of games, and others don't really need to be multiplayer.
