AVNT Guides & Live Streaming
I'm beginning to write guides for AVNT and share my knowledge. I have two up so far:
  • SP 1: The Pet of Tomorrow - Hints, Not Solutions
  • SP 5: The Hydrator - Hints, Not Solutions

I'm working on Area 6. Let me know if you have a request for a guide. I also plan on starting to stream everything AVNT on my (so far unused) Twitch channel.

My goal is to record the following:
  • all gold speed runs
  • detailed walkthroughs of levels
  • high scoring tips
  • expose how mechanics work and advanced tricks
  • achievements
  • anything else related to the game that I forgot to list

I still need to do a test stream and figure it all out, but just a heads up.
Edit: I did my first stream! There will be more. http://www.twitch.tv/traxius/b/369970381

I never even noticed that "Guides" tab over there. Those are great!

Thanks! I'm still tweaking some of my tips here and there. Let me know if I should change any of the tags.

I'm still working on them. I created the shells of each guide. I'll release more as soon as I can.

I tried some of the programs for Streaming. Haven't figured out how to get it to only show the windowed game and not my entire desktop. In theory I know how to type in the params for the screen size, but it always defaults back to my screen resolutions.

I'm just going to have to record walkthroughs and the videos the old fashion way (with Fraps) and post them. Should I separate the walkthrough videos by area or by level?

I figured it out! Finally found a streaming program that makes sense, is completely free and works. It was easy to set up.

I ended up using Open Broadcaster Software. Download it here:

The 32-bit and 64-bit version are in the same installer. You just run the .exe of the version that you desire once it is installed on your computer.

Here's a Twitch.TV Tutorial on how to get it set up.

In addition to that, I'm using a program called WSplit that I can use to track and display the timing of my runs while I'm streaming:

It was recommended on the Speeds Run Live website. (http://speedrunslive.com/tools/) They are a group of people who do a lot of speed running on Twitch. Here's a stream of Breakdown777 speed running Super Meat Boy: http://www.twitch.tv/breakdown777/b/359284789

You can see the timer in action there. So... I guess that means I will start streaming late nights when I'm not too exhausted. Should be fun.

Just did my first practice stream. Did horrible on 6.08 and 6.09. Ended up failing & skipping them. Must practice more. http://www.twitch.tv/traxius/b/369970381 If you're looking for a complete walkthrough I beat every level except those two.
