+ Great story
+ Realistic and graphic world
+ Forces you to make tough choices
- Annoying quick time events don't add anything
Not really a game, but an interactive story, so be warned, there is almost no gameplay here! Very compelling story, which forces you to make tough choices, that make you wonder what would happen if you had chosen differently. After each chapter, it shows you how your choices compared to everyone else who played the game, which is cool. Turns out I'm kind of a jerk, lol. In the end though, the results are always the same. I won't give anything away, but it turns out some of your gut-wrenching decisions don't really matter because certain events have to happen to push the story down the rails it's on. However, your choices affect how those events play out, which is satisfying.
It's loaded with quicktime events that try to make you feel like part of the action, but I found them to be annoying. Why bother making me sit up and mash a button every 15 minutes or so after I just got comfy in my chair?
Loved the art, which made it feel like a comic book. Great soundtrack, too. Very atmospheric.
A great story that explores some very grim realities if humanity was ever faced with a viral epidemic. Should have just focused on being a choose-your-own adventure than trying to force a 'game' element in. Not for the ADD crowd who like to skip cutscenes.
