MAJOR BUG - Wrong Character Constellation in Episode 2 (Spoiler)
Hey Everybody, I did rescue Carley in the first Episode and Doug died. Now the 2nd Epsiode starts and Doug's alive and Carley is dead. What's wrong? Seems like a major bug. Please help. I don't wanna go on like that.

Hmn, that's kinda weird. I guess your best option is to replay the last part of episode 1, and hope your choice sticks- It'll be pretty fast, now that you know exactly what to do. (That said, if you ask me, I'd totally save the guy who at least knows what batteries are.)

you have to wait for the credits to finish

I save Carly and dident get Doug you have to be sure its the rigt save fill you are playing on and be sure you have save it before you leave the game ;-)

I've been waiting for the end credits, but it makes absolutely no difference. When I is about to launch the second episode, the game ask if I want to rewind the second episode. I have a saved game where I've played this epsiod before, but that should not affect a new saved game where I play the game a second time!

When the game finally started, without this question, is my choice from the first episode not saved at all. I even sometimes just get a black screen, does not seem as if the game manages to be played a second time!
same issue for me, though I looked at the STATS from my save for ep. 1 and all my choices are there(only the major ones shone). However when ep. 2 begins same start choices shown, doug always lives instead of carly, kenny never backed up by lee, ect. This really is frustrating since the entire basis of the game is choice making, but since my choices dont carry over whats the point in playing the damn game. It isn't fun when choices are made that aren't your own. also I have never once saved doug, so I can be certain that this is not that an old save is the only one the game is loading, it seems to be loading a generic preset set of choices due to failing somewhere along the line to load my actual choices.

If someone finds a fix, dont forget to share it with the rest of us frustrated gamers, lol.

If you're using Windows 7 or Vista you can try this..

Go into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\the walking dead\Pack

In there you may find a file called Prefs.prop. If you do, copy the file and then go to..

C:\Users\yourname\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead and paste the file there. At that point you should get a overwrite window, just ok that.

I did that and then I started episode 2 from the start and the choices I made in episode one carried over properly. But before figuring out that little trick, I was having tons of issues with the way the game was saving choices in episode one. Sometimes the game would think I saved Carley over Doug, while other times the game would think I sided with Larry over Kenny.

Oh, and if you're using the 32 bit version of Windows 7 or Vista, remove the (x86) from the directory I listed on top of this post.

Exactly the same problem for me. HUGE problem, considering the game is all about how your choices determine the story line. I'm using mac so it seems to be a problem with the game and not the operating system. If this is not sorted I'm considering finding out about my consumer rights for a refund, based upon being sold a faulty product that does not perform as it should.

I also had this problem, and then i copy prefs.prop from steam folder to MyDocuments folder (override that copy) - and game began to work normally! ( WindowsXP )

Great, thanks for the tip!

Anyway, this is getting serious: I also bought Magic 2013 and I had to do something like this to keep my progress. People here on Steam should be aware of these things.

I had the same problem on OS X and Delete Me's fix solved it. On OS X, you need to copy:
/Users/yourname/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/The Walking Dead/TheWalkingDead.app/Contents/Resources/Pack/default/prefs.prop
to:
/Users/yourname/Library/Application Support/Telltale Games/TheWalkingDead/prefs.prop
and then restart episode 2.
