Black Screen need help please

Got the black screen bug when I try to load my save into episode 4. I've already verified the files, and deleted/re-installed the game. I tried looking for a fix but still haven't found one yet. Anyone know the black screen fix?

If you run it in a wrong compatibility mode, it can freeze to a black screen. Your system may have reset the compatibility setting for whatever reason. Windows98 mode works for me, try that if it is set as something else.

if u have a nvidia gpu. goto nvidia control panel under 3d settings change the performance setting from adaptine to prefer maximum performance. it fixed an issue i had with flickering. might work for you.

Also, if you do have flickering and it persists despite purefun65's method, you can try setting the process affinity for the game to using all cores from the task manager. You may have to run task manager as an administrator for it to allow you to change the affinity for the game, being locked in as admin isn't enough.

I've tried all solutions and so far none of them have worked. I have started a new game with no problem, but still cannot load my original game in episode 4.

That sucks :/ I'll let you know if I remember some other possible fixes but I think the above mentioned solutions are all I've had to try out myself.
