Subject: Compliments

I want to take this opportunity to thank your company for its commitment to bringing quality games to the US and, particularly, for porting these games to the PC.

I consider myself a veteran video game enthusiast, having starting out with some of the original gaming consoles in my youth. Having seen game companies come and go, it is especially refreshing to see a company dedicated to bringing quality Japanese games to the US. Your recent efforts in PC ports has reaffirmed my admiration of your company and the work you do. I want you to know that I own every game your company has released on PC through Steam. I make it a point to purchase these games on PC, not only because they are great games and deserve to be bought, but also to show my support for companies that recognize that the PC has an enthusiastic gamer base.

I would like to also commend your company for its recent decision to port the Legend of Heroes games to PC. I, unfortunately, have never had the pleasure of playing these games as I do not own, nor want, a handled gaming device like the PS Vita. Having the opportunity to now play what I believe to be great Japanese RPGs on my PC has pleased me immensely. I thank you for your decision and guarantee you an immediately pre-purchase as soon as the games are up on Steam. By the way, I own a PS3 and Nintendo Wii, but my heart is with the PC. That your company is behind it has ensured my continued support of your products.

Maybe this email is sounding a little too fanboyish but I just wanted my admiration to be known. I've never written a company before but I'm glad I'm writing to you (although I wish I wrote to Working Designs before they went under). Thanks again and keep up the good work!

Thanks,

Response:

Fanboyishness is always good, thanks so much for the kind words. We will try to support the PC as much as possible in the future as long as people like you continue to support our releases.

Thanks again for all your support.

i urge you all to show your support to XSEED as well
I have just discovered that Ys is on steam, and am considering buying them in the future. However, in terms of supporting XSEED, I'm planning to buy Rune Factory 4 when it comes out (3DS only though)
i would definitely buy the Ys. great games.
Well, they do bring a bunch of great games over, no argument there :)
And just so you know:

The Ys Felghana, Origin, and Trails 1-2-3 are all originally for the PC. The PSP were the ports!

If you like XSEED's offerings -- modern classics from Japan -- you should also check out Carpe Fulgur's games. Recettear and Fortune Summoners are both great games (I haven't played Chantelise yet so I can't say).

In fact, they're the ones responsible for localizing Trails 2!

BTW, note to XSEED: I really want to play Wild ARMs 4 but I don't have a PS2. Any chance of you bringing that over to PC? (I also heard that there's a bug that prevents 100% completion in the English version, so maybe an updated re-release could fix that too!)
I'm playing recettear now. great game. I have Fortune Summoners in my backlog.

I didn't realize that Ys Felghana and Origin were originally PC games. It makes me wonder what other gems come out in japan that we are missing out on
There's Ys Ark of Napishtim as well.
I hope they'll bring the PC version over sooner or later
YS. Games rocks. Much harder than most games. Which make thenm more challenging.
