Why can't I use the RT and LT buttons in Ys Origin?
If I run the configuration mode it can identify my Xbox 360 game controller as such but I can't bind those buttons. Why?

Ys Origin does not actually support XInput at this time, and the way Xbox controllers map the triggers in DirectInput is very weird, putting them both on the same axis (you can't have them both pressed at the same time). Currently it just doesn't handle anything related to the triggers at all. I'm sorry about that.

That blows. This makes the battle against Mantid very hard as I'm accustomed to using the gamepad and this boss battle practically forces me to use the keyboard :(

I defeated this boss with no trouble by using charged Bolt Crash and spaming regular Bolt Crash. Try to make rapid axe hits to raise your boost as well.

Any chance that it will support Xinput in the (near) future?

I was a little disappointed with the LT+RT not being used, but I hardly cycle with two buttons. So I use one of the shoulders (LB) with magic, and B to previous skill. (RB for next.)

You can use JoyToKey to make the triggers mimic the keyboard inputs.

My condolences to the team -- IIRC the original PC release of Origin was like right after Xinput came out, so you kinda just got hosed on that.

The whole way Microsoft did DirectInput on 360 kind of screams imposed obsolesence. It's shady as hell.

Xinput is inferior to DirectInput in many ways. And the way many lazy developers use it in PC games is just horrible - when you can't remap the controls.

And the only reason to force it was to force people to buy new gamepads, that's all
