Ys Origin Configuration does not save settings

I'm having a bit of a problem with Ys Origin. Whenever I try to change anything in the Configuration (mainly Graphic settings and Controller settings) the settings are simply not being saved. I looked through the forum and noticed a few others having similar problems, but I haven't come across any solution that would work for me. I tried changing settings and then press "apply" and "OK" but when I reopen the Configuration, everything is back to default.
I'm running Win 7, Intel Core i7-2630QM, GT 540M and 8GB RAM. Running the Config as an Administrator doesn't change a thing.
If anyone has any suggestions, it would be most appreciated!

In cases where the configuration absolutely will not save, try disabling the Steam Cloud. x.x

I do not use Steam Cloud and just double checked, it is disabled. Unfortunately it is still not cooperating :S
