If I could get only one Ys game, which one should I get?

Pretty much the title, been waiting for the Ys games to be on sale for ages but as it happens to be... I run out of money. Go figure.

cince all are reduced by 66% for the flash sale :penny, the pack of 1&2 gives you prolly the most (unrepeated) gameplay time ...
but imo Origins or Felghana are better games, i didn't like the gameplay of I and II as much :/

I got The Oath, I played the demo of Origin and from what I can guess of what people have said, The Oath is essentially the same gameplay wise, but The Oath has more enviroments. Probably get Origin in the Winter sale :D Thanks for the suggestions, but I guess I should've said between The Oath and Origin, remastered NES games don't interest me.

I would say in ranking of how enjoyable they'd be to someone who hasn't played any Ys games would be Oath > Origins > Chronicles. Chronicles is mostly awesome for being the start of Adol's ridiculous adventures in saving the world seventeen times. The actual gameplay of them isn't as good as Oath or Origins.

I actually personally liked Origins more than Oath, but that's probably the lore nerd in me.

Oath is probably the best one all-around by today's standards, but Ys I and II are my favorite. Ys Origin isn't very good, and has a habit of not knowing when to shut up and get on with the gameplay.
