Ys Origin
Is it worth playing Ys 1 & 2 before this?
Was playing Ys 1 but I wasn't really enjoying it very much, it is worth trudging through in order to understand some of the things in the story?

It adds extra meaning and understanding to parts of the story, but it definitely isn't required to enjoy it. I personally played Ys Origin first, and while I did enjoy I & II myself, I found that it didn't really matter that I'd played Origin first. In the end, there IS a lot of stuff in I & II that connects to Origin and vice-versa, but it's really not stuff you NEED to know. I think you can enjoy it just fine without them.
I played through number 1 and i didn't like the combat system so I skipped 2. My order is 1, Origin (all 3 characters), then the other one filgarfdklklj or something

i've played 1 2 and 3 and this seems to be something totally different. i dont think it even matters if you play this first.

I played Origin first and found that it gave context to certain names and places in I & II that made me appreciate some of the story more. I don't think anything is spoiled particularly by doing it one way or the other; the two storylines operate almost independently from one another.

I own all 3 , I remember researching this a long time ago and what I found was Origin was set 700 years before the events of Ys1 so the play order is Origin , Ys1 than Ys2.

I'm not saying you "have" to play in that order , I'm just letting yous know my opinion :D:
