I must be the...
Worst Ys player in the world. I can NOT beat the construct boss on normal at all.I jump his attacks, I knock off his hands, I dodge his other attacks and he still manages to kill me every time I get him down to 1/4 his health. I use a gamepad too. And this is after hitting lv 26 with all my armor currently maxed and my weapons at 3. If I suck at this in normal then no WAY I'll clear even the first enemy on nightmare.

I hate my life.

Nightmare is just insane, FYI. Took me forever to beat the first boss in the boss rush.

Anyway, try leveling up some more. The bosses are by no means easy, but they tend to get noticeably easier if you're just a little overleveled.

Finally. I see what I did wrong. While backtracking I saw I missed the Leg Guards.

I also neglected to mention I was using Yunica as my first playthrough.

Me too; I've only played Yunica mode so far.

Construct boss is by no means easy. Heck, none of them are easy.

Yeah, those bosses are damn hard, but feels so gooood winning them, especially when you're about to die. Oh, the stress, the nerves... I dont know if I could handle Nightmare Boss Rush.
