Video Scenes Not Playing - Please Help!

I love this game. It is really good, but there is one problem I have. Whenever I start a new game, I can't see the intro. I hear the music start, then it just fades out. The screen is black when all that happens. After that, it skips to the beginning dialogue. How can I fix this? I have had this game since launch and still haven't been able to fix it.

When you click start, start the configuration, and make sure that "Disable all movie playback" is *not* checked. Beyond that, it might be a codec issue, but I'm not 100% sure how to fix that.

It can also mean there may be at least two codecs conflicting with the video playback. Remove the codecs by trial and error and see which one is causing the problem.

How do I remove codecs?

Hmm...before you do that, check if you have K-Lite codec installed. If not, try installing that first. In order to check, go to Control Panel > Programs > Program feature (uninstall a program). Look for K-lite codec pack.

BTW, I'm using Windows 7, so if you have a different OS, the location of the program list might differ.

OK, so I got it and installed it. Now what should I do?

Run the game. If that didn't work, then we know one of the codecs before the installation was the culprit.

I switched it to play LAV instead of Microsoft. It worked. Thanks for the help!
