I agree that the soundtracks for the Ys series are awesome, but the games too :D
I enjoy the story, gameplay and graphics, enough that it is a good game in every capacity, but the music is notably exceptional. I even quite like the difficulty level, which some people think is a little skewed. The only real complaints I have is that it's too combat-biased rather than roleplaying and problem solving, and also a tad short.
I will buy games just for the music, though, if they have a soundtest or game music in a format I can listen to on its own. It's cheaper than a soundtrack CD.
I found the game music folder in Ys, so am happy ^^
