Feedback from a Lobster
I've played the game for 10 hours as of this post. Here are some things I think would make the game better! :)
General:
1) Vote kick option. Every mp game should have this! :)
2) Change the hot-key for all chat. shift+enter screws over certain characters (Liich specifically). Just a little thing!
3) Able to see all rank/level icons somewhere. Just fun :)


Server host wise:
1) Admin commands from console.
Can't stress how crucial this is. Yes, people could abuse admin powers on their servers..But its their servers. Simple commands. Kick and change gametype..Or something like that.
2) Reserve slot
I could see it being a problem if someone is hosting a server and all the slots fill up before he can join. That would suck, wouldn't it? Fix? Reserve slot by ID. If the game is fill and that steam ID joins the server, one person gets kicked for the host. Simple!


All I have for now. With some extra elbow grease this game can be a real shiner!

Server host wise:
3) motd option. Put message in and it shows it to the players when they connect or when a new round starts. Maybe an option to see it in game via menu button.
4) See player ping when viewing scoreboard.

General:
4) Make connecting to servers work.
5) Sever browser changes. Sort by options..and have it actually show servers that are there :P

Server host wise:
5) Able to check connections and name of players.
6) A counter for how long the server has been up.
7) The log is just a bunch of..what appears to be nonsesnse. What does this stuff mean? Its too cluttered for a monitoring standpoint. Cant make sense of errors or events or..anything.
8) Viewable chat log updated in real time.

Lobster has pretty much laid the foundation of what this game's server/admin side requires if you want this game's server community to flourish.

Currently I'm hosting 10 servers and can easily do 20-25, however I wish I could micro manage them all with the previously mentioned tools.


General:
Vote Kick - This is very important as it gives players the ability to self-govern trolls and the like.

All Chat Hotkey - You can use the same ones that FPSs use, T for All and Y for Team



Server Host:
Console Commands - Yes

Reserve Slots - Yes. Honestly this is the reason why I hosted so many servers. Every time my family and my clan tried to join one of the servers I was hosting, it was always full! So I continued to host more servers after we would all come back to play. I did not want to disrupt other players who were still on my previou servers, so I kept adding more. Reserve Slots would remedy this issue.

MOTD - This would greatly increase our ability to advertise websites, rules, information, but most importantly our ArcheBlade Server Community group here on Steam.

Ping - Making this viewable whether through a console command in game or in the game's UI would allow players to once again make decisions on whether to stay with a server or not. It also will allow server admins to see the average ping of their server's inhabitants without having to search through live logs and monitor cmd prompt pinging tables.

Connected Client Information - This information is valuable specifically for making sure that troublemakers are bannable by IP range or if even possible, wrappers or injected DLLs/botting info.

Server Live Duration - Having this info is important because we can test the stability of our servers. To add to this, if you could implement the ability for a server to check whether it is live or not would be great and if it is not live, relaunch itself using the same configuration so that internet hiccups while admins are away from their server(s) location(s) do not hinder the experience of both the players and admins nearly as much.

Server Log - If they could be generated with the server's name as the text string used to name the log, that would be great. Tack on a numerical counter at the end if any duplicate name is found and you're golden. For managing the output of the log as well, is it possible to add a break after each output so that it is either able to be run through a parser? Personally I can read the logs without it but it has been brought to my attention and Lobster mentioned this - Many people may or may not understand what is being output in the logs.

Chat Log - Agreed. Sometimes people actually communicate during these times and it can also be used to hold people accountable.


These are my feelings as the current largest community server host for the game regarding what Lobster posted.

Server wise:
9) A restart button on the server. Makes it easier to reset a server then closing it, changing the port again and starting again. Just for convienece, really. :)

Love this admin thread:

-Auto team balance functions

-Force new player to join team with least players (tired of the stacking)

-Pylon score limit settings so admins can choose for team wins @ 1000,1500,2000,2500, 3000, etc.

-Set Champion limits on a Player-per-Champion basis for example:
Duplicate Server: Limit Renoah @ 1 player
Limit Valle @ 2 players etc.
Allows admin control over team variety, keep everyone from picking the same hero on duplicate servers and an outlet for currently overpowered elements. -cough-RENOAH-cough-

-Better server filters, I hate that I can't just click on PING and have it set up the servers in ascending order to find a close by server. I want to click PLAYERS to join a game with a certain number of people. Instead I have to sift through all the mucked up, disorganized server list. These above mentioned tools are just organizational standards to a community server GUI. They help clients find a desired server.

General:
6) A stats page in game. Displays kills, deaths, assists, a ratio, and other data. Time spent as characters, kills/deaths/assists by characters, etc.

An ability to send a admin level message to the server letting people know it will shutdown soon, or map change that sort of thing. At the moment yuo just shut it down a "screw you losers!" which isnt very nice.

Lobster may have already mentioned a request related to this, but is there a way to script the startup of multiple servers? It's a bit annoying to startup 15 servers by hand using the server launcher.
