It only does not work if your using a controller.

if your the Admin of your computer (or laptop) and you have the Archeblade icon try right clicking it and select "run as admin" it should work.

if your using DSL that might be the problem. if you don't know if your using dls or not talk to the person who is in charge of the internet, this game requires broadband internet service.
they disabled the use of controllers in one of there patches.

1)try to reinstall
2)try "run as adminastrator"
3)disable firewall and run game to see if there is a invalide firewall rule
4)find out if your using Broadband internet instead of D.S.L uplink
5)q.q can't think of anymore
