I'm hoping to be alive when it happens so that I could see what we get and be satisfied instead of discussing it with people who have no idea beforehand.

There will be a new map with a new gamemode coming soon!

I think that you are being a bit too harsh.
The patch will probably be bug fixes and, if the add something new, it will be a character or a map.

Hypothetically, how would you limit spamming?

I don't really see spamming as an issue. Players are just generally unwilling to go to the trouble of countering it. JR spam is counterable and not even that effective overall. The only time I've seen someone win a game doing nothing but JR spamming was in Naga's Pit with six Rank 1 players.

Making these moves worse. In a dueling game where you can dominate with ease by just spamming the same move that gives a good chunk of damage with amazing mobility is just dull.

So like, same move damage reduction (on hit or just on use?) like in some traditional 2D/3D fighters? Or just straight up nerfing the moves?

People just can't accept when someone is more intelligent than they are. Oh well..
Orrrrr maybe they just don't want to do it cuz yknow, they don't want to make their game that way for some weird reason? It's a bad idea anyway.

You mean scaling like in SF4 and MVC? That might actually work but then there are characters like Elrath, Renoah and the dwarves who specialize in ranging. Also, damage is only scaled while attacking fast enough to keep a combo going and due to people usually blocking the third hit of combos, it isn't all that likely to keep one up. Also from what I noticed, the higher your combo is in this game, the more damage you do- up to a certain point ofc. It looks like they never wanted scaling. It actually screws up some games- SF4 being one of them. It scales so freakin hard.

I don't think scalling would work as a reliable nerf since most of the times it isn't used within a combo.
In my opinion it just does too much right now:
A good chunk of damage
Great mobility
Great hit-stun capabilities, ESPECIALLY, if its more of a cluster compared too 1v1. A sewon or cezanne spamming their J. Right can easily turn the tide of a battle.
I would think the best nerf is reducing the mobility aspect of it. If its leaving them vulnerable longer while / after landing, reducing how far they knock themself back or something else i would think that would make for the best nerf.
If the enemy manages to dodge the attack there will be a longer time too punish it and it will lose it's effectiveness against multiple opponents (Meaning that there won't be those long borring dragged out 1v3's).
