Why does this community love to stack so much?
For a beta game with a small playerbase, I've never seen so much poor sportsmanship. Every other game I join is a bunch of high rank players teamstacking to steamroll a server, even if it's 4v1.

I understand the game is in beta, so it doesn't have autobalance or autoscramble or any other normal features, but is it too much to expect the community to still be fair? I don't see how it's fun for anyone involved when there's 4 people playing a server, and people intentionally team change to stack it 3v1, or when the same organized group of high rank players all stack on the same team and just camp on a server for hours.

I love this game, but I also like having fair, challenging fights. There's no fun for me when I steamroll rank 1 players, and it's no fun getting stomped on by some high rank team in voice chat. Whenever I bring this up, people get ♥♥♥♥y, but it seems like basic etiquette to me. When I play games with my good friend we switch teams sometimes to even out the players - even if it means not playing together.

I'd rather have a fun, fair fight that I lose 2v2 or 1v1 or whatever, than stomp on people at a lower skill level than I am.

Hell, that's why you can't join Militia servers after rank 5.

A valid concern. Really depends on which high ranks are referred to though. A lot of those that I know like to join the weaker side just to balance it out.

Though, not every high rank player can be like the ones I know.

It's unfortunate really.

I prefer to join against the stack team but again. There are games where a balance fight can turn into a stack game quickly when multiple people leave. The one team enjoys playing together. It happens best thing to do is win 3 v 1 and make all 3 feel silly.

Yeah, that's also a problem. Even if you have an unstacked and balanced game. Leavers will affect it terribly. Then you suddenly see one side stacked.

Personally I tend to stay on whichever side the server puts me on. If it's not a Militia server I don't really care if there are newbies. The only way they will ever learn to block or not spam buttons (or quit if they're impatient) is if you teach them.

I do my best to switch teams to avoid any idiots trying for a stacking scenario. But then the stupid stackers just keep switching in response. I have to lock in eventually and then they have their way.

In Steam Canal, in my experience, I end up with lopsided teams more often by ragequit players rather than blatant stacking.

What really needs to be done is disabling the "switch team" button if the teams are even or only have a difference of 1.

As I see it rank is mostly meaningless unless they're rank 1 or 2 (In which case they've just started) In my green ranks I was already wiping the floor with most rank 30s I encountered. Although, admittedly, there were a few that I had truly intense battles against.

Keep in mind that it is entirely possible to get Max Rank simply by spamming the same ability over and over while learning absolutely nothing about the game.

This is correct. Rank really doesn't mean a lot. Quite often you will see Higher ranks kiting constantly which doesn't really take any skill.

But back on topic. Myself and the other SS members tend to try and even things out or encourage 1v1s. If you know you are a better than average player, I like to think it makes sense you don't stack. People that stack are in it to win it, but not because they are good at it. I played against stackers about an hour ago funny enough. They were terrible, wiped the floor with them. But no, it is an issue. I often wait till all other players are locked before locking in myself just to try and fight the stackers. Tonight luck was on my side. 5/7 Randoms got me Valle XD

I see so much stacking problems, doesnt matter rank. People just like to switch to the winning team even if that means a 3v3 becomes a 1v4. It's horrible when you point it out, I once got called "a whiney ♥♥♥♥♥ing noob" for saying the teams got stacked. Here's hoping an autobalance gets patched in soon.

I actually did get stacked against today in Underseige. After the first match a guy on each side left and my teammate jumped ships. They were all fairly new players, not a one over rank 5, and apparently my Teammate thought my impression of a Renny player was lacking. (I had never played Fire Renny before... so I can see where they're coming from.)

Feeling somewhat betrayed I switched to Dan Mei (who is currently my third best character) and proceeded to open up a whole case of whoop ♥♥♥ on them. I didn't get a second teammate till I already had fifteen kills to their four.

Traitorous Teammate: Where the **** was this last round?!
Me: HONORABLE SAMURAI DO NOT TALK TO TRAITORS!

Part of me wants to feel bad about it. Another part of me knows that honorable Samurai shouldn't feel bad for traitors.

I'm definitely in favor of an Auto-balance and locking team switch if the sides are even.

As I have said in another thread, this game has the biggest amount of leavers in any other game that I have been in. Even the winning team has leavers if they die once. Since you win nothing other than experience towards your never level, leaving is not a big deal as long as you don't mind being a d*ckhead. That's one problem that should be fixed to prevent unwanted unbalancing in the middle of a match.

Stacking after the match ends is another really annoying matter that can be fixed with the magic auto balancing mechanic. The problem is that people are, as I said, d*ckheads. They do not try to be fair one bit and they would do anything to see the 'Victory' phrase when the match ends. They win nothing particular whatsoever, they just love to show that they have a huge ego and selfish manners.

Just yesterday, I was in a match and for a few seconds our team was outnumbering the opposing one, and so I decided that I would sit so the match would be fair. After those few seconds, each team was full so I said to /all that I am going back in. Somebody (don't remember name) asked me "what (the hell) am I talking about". If people don't even know what 'sitting' is then how can you expect that they would be able to be fair when it comes to stacking and balancing?

Hopefully, after they (and if they) add in-game currency for the shop, leaving would at least be solved. But, then again, that would add another problem and everyone would want to win and start raging (by everyone, I mean the ragekids) which could be easily solved if each team, win or lose, gets the same amount of credits from it.(ragequiters will never change though)

<Edit>
I actually had a fight with a high rank once in steam canal which made me realise my flaws really fast. People should learn to observe those that are better than them instead of joining them. The best way to do that is by simply fighting against them, not in order to win the game, but in order to gain experience out of it.
I even hopped into the Training after that match in order to practise what I just saw and why it killed me.

I'm a newbie so i can understand being an easy target and having someone with a higher rank come after me but in a game of team warfare (or whatever format it is where one team has to kill the other before the round is over) it was me against two others i picked renoah and was first to lock in my character afterwards the two people on the opposing team picked d*ck and gaspar. If that's fair and not in it just to hear victory i'll eat my own laptop.

The fact that none of them sit even if it was 2v1 is not fair on it's own.

If one of them had picked say elika or renny or some character that isnt a tank character it wouldnt have bothered me but both picked tanks and would run up to me and melee me before i could really do anything

I just noticed ( I am not really good with names... ) that they took those 2 robot guys. That was an even d*ckier (and that's a word now) move against a single Renoah.

Exactly. Now this is a bit off topic but i have a thread its currently the sixth thread in the discussions that arent pinned mind giving it a read and leaving some reply?

I wouldn't really call ♥♥♥♥ or Gaspar Tanks, they are probably more mediocre where as Elrath, Renoah and the Rennys and a couple more are all very low tank.
