Macs are legit(imately a pain in the ♥♥♥♥). In the meantime you could try running WINE through MacPorts or Finks(?). Results may vary (in degrees of suffering), so I will say run Windows 7 through Bootcamp. Just do it unless you are absolutely obsessed with OSX. The difference in performance is huge despite using the same hardware (talking about SC2 being playable and L4D actually looking decent on a macbook pro with HD3000). If you enjoy gaming, especially indie gaming, just do it.

You should install windows instead unless you are willing to *insert whatever you have to do to make a game run on mac*. Otherwise, the only thing your mac can do is to show how much money you can spend.
Not trying to hate or anything! I just want to point out that if you want to play games, mac is not way to go.... Except if you are playing only AAA games that have a budget big enough to make support on everything in no time.

I agree, just use Windows. I think the dev team has greater things to worry about than Mac support.

Look I own 3 Macs. I love them, great machines that are a joy to use for anything but decent gaming. The machine I game on is a dedicated PC just for that purpose and no other.

The reason Macs are "crap for gaming" is for no other reason than Apple not putting any focus on it in it's OS. The hardware in most Macs is based around the same bits'n'pieces that go into high end PC laptops (this includes the iMacs Mac Minis) and in the case of Mac Pros you have some of the highest PC tech you can get in a nice box (Xeon multiprocs, high end GPUs etc).

For Macs to be any good at gaming Apple would need to make OpenGL a priority and create a team that does nothing but ensure that it's driver implementations of OpenGL are both up to date in terms of OGL spec but also up to date in terms of performance. Apple is responsible for drivers on Mac OS, not the GPU vendors.

I have no doubt at all that you could get AB to run on Mac OS (UE3 does have Mac OS support from memory) but the reality is that you would be running quite a few performance points down running under Mac OS then you would be dual booting into Win on the same hardware or building a cheap PC jsut for the purpose.

So for those that think that wa all way too long winded... What I'm saying is that I aggree with:
