Missle Vs Thrown
I originally intended to do both, but realized it doesn't make sense. I went thrown. I seem to do equal damage with my shurken as i do with the first crossbow I found. But i have 32 points in thrown and none in missle... is the trade off not doing anything till u get a bow but it being ultimately better?

If you go with thrown then increase your strength as well. for some reason dexterity is not the major factor in thrown, dexterity is more for bows and such.

.. and that's why your shuriken are on par with that crossbow you found. Each point put into the skills increases your damage output.

I'm not sure i get this question. You can choose to not assign points to missile and throwing weapon skills while you can still use the low end missile/throwing weapons until something comes up requiring points.

I mean my bow does as much damage with ZERO points in missle as my 32 points in thrown. The trade off is u get to do more damage early cause u have thrown weapons right away verse not getting a crossbow till level 4 or whatever

The crossbow is the second-strongest missile weapon in the game. Perhaps that's why it says to do so much damage. It also depends on what you are comparing it to i.e. rocks deal the least damage when thrown.

missles are far better. not only are they more damageing but they have magic arrows which
can be recovered/made. thrown has bombs but is very limited and used up one thrown. the only
advantage thrown has over missle is that you can still have a melee weapon in hand. (not that great when you have suken most of your point into throw)

right. they are, but the trade off is you can do thrown alot earlier. In retrospect as I said initially, missels woulda been better

I think throwing is at a slight disadvantage to missile as well (although having a free hand is pretty nice), so I added a new strong throwing weapon near the end of Master Quest.

If your rogue stays in the back row then definitely go only for missile weapons and max it out at every level-up! You get the sling-shot very fast so you can turn your rocks into missile weapons instead of thrown and later on when you get the bow and crossbow you'll be unstoppable especially with your mage enchanting your arrows.

You find a bow and some arrows fairly early on in the game so I'd recommend don't waste your skill points in thrown skills, which is what I did at first not realising I'd get a bow so soon.
