*shrug* It worked for Orcs & Elves.

Turn-based? Yuck!

I wouldn't care either way. I'm open to either option.

I think seeing a turn-based version of this game would be pretty damn interesting.

Yeah turn based would be a huge improvement for me. I've tried getting into LoG multiple times and unfortunately every combat just devolves into a dance around 4 squares. It either needs to be turn based or rebalancing to make the combat interesting.

I would like to be able to switch into turn-based and back to real-time.

This is paying homage to games like Eye of the Beholder, so no.

I think it should stay in realtime since a lot of the time, getting hit once will have a huge impact on the characters. With realtume, it is easier to dodge, hit and run.

I think they designed it with dancing intended. I prefer it over combat being a question of pure numbers as you stand in front of each other attacking.

I'm sure they did design it with dancing intended as the appropriate solution to the weak combat. That however is not what I was looking for from the game. I prefer real tactics where I would have to carefully consider each click. As it stands, I wont be buying the sequel or any other game from them simply because they are not catering to what I am interested in.

For those that want real time combat and the dance, I am sure Grimrock is a great game. Just not my cup of tea.

Why not both? The Might & Magic series did a very good job of allowing you to toggle real time/turn-based mode by pressing the spacebar. You could switch whenever you wanted. To this day, I just don't understand why other dungeon crawls don't adopt this and open up their games to people who like both methodologies. They don't have to be mutually exclusive.

I have loved wizardry 7/8 (sir-tech) and Might & Magic but i think that grimrock (like MD or EOB) work fine in real time.
