Impossible to kill ogre
Is it normal that the ogre is impossible to kill? Tried thrice, and he kills my entire party in less than 10 turns, even if I sometimes manage to evade his charge.
Is it some puzzle to kill him? I'm on the brink of an uninstall :/.

You sidestep to the right and turn to the left, then while the ogre is moving onto that tile, you strike him and sidestep again before he turns towards you. Repeat.

Move like Ali. Don't try to be stronger then him! Move - Punsh - Move - Punsh

I tried that, but 3-4 times he hit me before I finished my attacks, and my party was dead :/. And there seems to be no crystal to go and heal.

Is there a way to export my save, so that someone can kill the ogre for me?

if you can´t kill one ogre now... Let´s just say it ain´t gonna be pretty a bit later down the line.

It's not very hard to kill the ogre. You only have to be patient! Move like LenTrexler wrote, but don't try to hit the ogre with all four party members. Only one hit, then move. The ogre can't hit you that fast.

Good luck! And now kill that beast :-)

Thanks for the comments. I unistalled the game, if it is like that on the Easy setting.

If you look at the achievement stats, less than 10 percent of players actually finish the game... They should have called it "perseverance" :-)

By the way, if you re-install the game it will remember where you were and you can still continue.

No wonder, actually. If you ask me, the game has been badly designed. On easy difficulty, the timing for time-sensitive puzzles has to be exact to a split of a second, and the fights are either boringly easy, or forbiddingly difficult.

I'm glad I paid only less than EUR 4 for this game. It gave me 4 hours of fun and 1 hour of frustration ;).

Don't get me wrong, I like the game, but it's hard on first time players. I remember uninstalling it myself at some point. But I'm glad I changed my mind. I've played it 3 times now, one time even on hard (which was really tough).

You haven't figured out combat yet if you think fighting any single monster is difficult. You can dodge every attack without being very precise in your timing. Without a video it is hard to know what you are doing wrong. You can actually constantly keep circling the enemy with WASD(QE) so that you are not in any square for more than a fraction of a second, and just keep right clicking you party meembers' weapons. Your own attacks are instantaneous and can occur and hit enemies when you are between tiles.

There are only a few puzzles in the game that require precise timing. Most of the ones that seem that way are actually easier than they first look. As a very basic example, you might be able to throw a rock onto a switch from far away so you are already halfway to a timed door the switch activates.

A great way to fight the Ogre is to find at least a 5 grid line where you can step away from it.
[ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [O]
[ ] [ ] [y] [ ] [ ]
Y is you and O is ogre. You step UP causing the ogre to charge you, step back, and Swing/Cast as he runs by. Then you move UP, turn and face him, and use raged attacks till he turns. Wait for him to charge again and repeat. This is only one method but it should help for newer players. If you know of such a spot, try and lure the ogre to it. If you are already in such a spot, nice! Check your map once you find an ogre to decide best placement. Hope this helps!

To reach the 1st ogre of the game on level 6 you have to survive some pretty nasty traps, like the entrance to level 6. If you can deal with all that everything you need to figure out is how to properly deal with an ogre. Hit, sidestep, repeat is the simples method. Another is to pepper him with ranged attacks til he starts to charge you, then sidestep and hit him while he runs past you, repeating that. Just never try to tank him; you simple won't last.

This is your biggest problem right there. When you first hit this floor, kill the spiders first and just keep moving. As long as you don't stand still the ogre is pretty bad at hitting you.

Once it is just you and the ogre, you fight him like a bull fighter. Pretend you are waving a red cape. Just stand in front of him more than one square away and he'll make a noise, and then charge. You can step out of the way as soon as he makes his charge sound, you don't have to wait till he gets close.

Then, like a bull fighter, either stab him as he runs by, or just shoot him in the back after he has run past you. He'll hit a wall, take a few seconds to turn around, and then just charge you again.

Ogres are actually one of the easiest monsters in the game to kill unless they make you fight one in a one tile wide hallway so you can't sidestep their charge (which they do much later).

Thank you for all the comments, much appreciated. However, I tried all the advice to no avail before uninstalling. They really did a bad design job with the easier difficulties, as the Easy/Very Easy ones are nowhere near what one would expect them to be.

Well, I moved on to other games and I'm very happy I did so, because now, I get only enjoyment from the games, a not constant frustration :).

You'll get double that enjoyment when you solve that frustration and say to yourself "I ♥♥♥♥ing beat THAT ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥!"
