[Ubuntu Bug/Annoyance] Grey Box around mouse arrow.
I have looked around online for other instances of this but found only one other person a couple months or so ago reporting it as an xMir bug. No matter what, when I start the game my arrow has a grey box around it.
Here is an example[launchpadlibrarian.net]
Doesn't really harm gameplay, but it is annoying. Anyone know a fix or even a cause?

EDIT: Further reading on Grimrock site says it is an AMD specific bug. My graphics are integrated. Lenovo H415 with Radeon HD 6530D.

Aye it seems that's only an issue for AMD GPU's. Perhaps a newer catalyst (beta) driver fixes this.

Gonna install the driver in a bit. Will update when I'm done.

Nvidia user here and I have never seen anything like that.....So, yeah, its likely the drivers.

Installing AMD stable and beta drivers had no effect. I may try other solutions soon.

It's a driver issue so try a different driver i.e. AMD Gallium drivers instead of regular AMD driver. There has been a report in the Grimrock forum that it helped.

The free radeon driver doesn't work, the game gives an error that S3TC is not supported, so that's not an option. Sadly, I'm forced to use fglrx.

The game does work with the free radeon driver. You might need to install libtxc_dxtn and lib32-libtxc_dxtn (might be named slightly different depending on your distro.) However, the box around the cursor is there with the free radeon driver as well.

OK, thx, though I'm not convinced that this is a "driver issue" if it happens on more than 1 drivers. Somehow other games don't get a box around a bitmap cursor.
I use the free Mesa driver with my Radeon HD 7950, and I get the cursor bug too. I don't really care too much about that bug though, the game plays fine.

Doesn't really affect gameplay, but it is an annoyance.
