Well hidden buttons are always more or less involved since most puzzles reveal secrets.
If you are more after puzzles then combat you might have a look at "The One Room Dungeon" or "Prison Ward".
I'm not sure i get you here. Beside few mods which feature fixed characters or parties LoG always gives the choice to you.
In case you ment party development including character swaps take a look at "The Sunset Gate" or "Eye of the Dragon" which you need to get from the linked list above; it's too large for the workshop limit of 100 MB.
