Do skill points put into a weapon tree count even if not using the weapon
Basically i was wondering do the stats gained from leveling a weapon class still apply even if you not using said weapon.

You still get the bonuses to attributes, health/energy, etc. even when you are not using that weapon. The benefits from them are fairly small, though, so it's not worth putting points into unused weapons, unless you really overlevelled; Atheletics/Armor for warrior and Dodge for melee rogue would give more benefits; ranged rogue can benefit from extra dexterity, though.

My understanding is that dexterity is only good for accuracy, and ranged attacks don't use accuracy (they always hit).

Dexterity is good to boost Accuracy, Evasion and two of the resistance (Fire and Shock).

As far as I noticed, ranged attacked *seemed* to improve with Dexterity. I could be wrong, though.

This might be counterintuitive for a typical rpg player, but in this game you want your archer to max out his strength as dexterity is useless due to ranged attacks always hitting the target.
